Ethics are at the heart of everything Elite Flight Club stands for. In fact, that’s what you’ll find in our culture of ethics mantra. Founded on ethical and fair business practices, we value relationships over profits and base all the decisions on the best interests of our clients. Importantly, we’re fully transparent when it comes to our private jet pricing and safety protocols.

How do we achieve this? By working alongside a number of highly respected partners to deliver the fairest and most ethical service possible to our clients.

Here are some of the companies and industry bodies we work with:

  • Better Business Bureau (BBB)
  • Woman in Aviation
  • The 99’s
  • National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)

Alongside our own ethical values, this keeps us at the top of our game. Unfortunately, not all brokers stick to their business ethics so much. When you hire the services of a broker who is not approved and regulated by companies such as those we work with, you open the door to an ocean of shady practices.

Unregulated brokers have been known to attempt a few tricks which are unethical and deceive the client. Here are some examples of unethical practices used by private jet brokers to be aware of:

Phantom aircraft bidding

Phantom aircraft bidding happens when a broker attracts clients with a low price without being able to really provide their service at such costs.

First, they will offer you a price that is not available elsewhere. Once you’ve committed to the trip, they will then call several operators trying to secure the low price. But if they can’t, they’ll use an excuse such as a mechanical issue – leaving you with no flight shortly before the trip was due.

Lowest price guarantees

Seemingly unbeatable prices can be offered by brokers to lure in private jet charter newbies. But these unrealistically low prices are achieved via the use of shoddy aircraft which fall below expected safety standards. This places you at risk every time you fly, which is not only unethical but also dangerous to you.

Intentional ambiguity

Paramount Business Jets is a broker, and we’re perfectly clear about that. But some brokers will purposefully create a grey area between being brokers and operators to confuse you. The fact is that the broker does not own the plane – and if they say otherwise, they’re not telling the truth.

If you want to avoid these issues, always use an established and experienced broker that is registered with organizations such as ACANA and the BBB.

You can also ask the broker some questions. This may give you the information you need to decide whether or not they’re reputable.
